A year of Change 2021 - 2022

After 2 years of Covid, Lock Downs, Working Remotely, how things have changed. As a Company we have had the opportunity to completely review our Business Plan and set new goals, identify new Sustainability Targets, new methods of working and improving the work/life balance of our Team. We have invested in Electric Vehicles and changed our Power Provider to one that provides totally Eco Friendly Zero Carbon Power. We actively support Charities and Our Senior Partner provides Pro-Bono support to a number of small start-up Companies, it is now the goal of Martin Warren to give back to society as much of his time as possible following a successful 40 years in the Construction Industry. So the past 2 years has completely changed the way we look at the working environment, the way we work, why we work, the need to go green and giving back. Funny how a virus can make you look at life from a different prospective.

It's been a busy and successful start to 2021

03/03/2021 - This year (so far) has been really busy, on the Tendering & Estimating front we have priced over 8 million pounds worth of tenders for our Clients and have secured slightly under £3 million pounds worth of Contracts for them and are currently lowest on another two projects, On future work we have also secured nearly £150,000 in fee proposals ranging from the production of Bills of Quantities and Cost Planning to Employers Agent on a £14 million pound development in Central London. All we need to do now is get out of this "Lock Down" and the Team can be back together doing what we do best.....

£240,000 of Fee Proposals - in a month!!

23/10/2020 - MWA have issued £240,000 in Fee Proposals for Contract Administration & Employers Agent this month, two large contracts in central London which are expected to last 2 years, just goes to show that through hard work and persistence the MWA name is on the up..

MWA have been busy during the Covid Lockdown...

Harley Road London: MWA have secured this interesting project for our Client and have also been appointed to udnertake the Commercial Management on their behalf on this £2,650,000 contract.

Rowland Way London - we have just completed the tender for a new basement to be constructed under the existing retained ground floor slab, this is going to be a tricky project but we are hopeful of a successful outcome.

Kent - Really sloping site, demolition of existing house and rebuild of new with in ground basement, tight access, gated community, but what a house it will be..

Cost Planning just completed on this "Roman Style" Villa in the depth of Hertfordshire for one of our developer clients... this will be a stunning 7500 sqft house with 2 pools, a gym sauna and steam room etc etc etc......

Farnham House Steel Frame Completed

26/03/2020 - Hybred Structural Steel Frame completed just before the "Shutdown" can't wait to get back to this project as there is just so much inovation in the construction methods and materials - really interesting and a Client who has a real eye for detail.

Beautiful Surrey Hills Home Finished...

16/08/2019 - Project completed today in the Surrey Hills, we managed to bring this 7,500 sqft house in at £212.80 per sqft so well done to the team at MWA, we have a happy homeowner, a happy Main Contractor and a quality job at a very keen price. Well done K&S Construction

MWA Appointed Contract Administrator & Quantity Surveyors on Farnham New Build Project

28/08/2019 - MWA have been appointed as joint Contract Administrators and Quantity Surveyors on this interesting new build private residence in the Surrey Hills. Working closely with the client and ROA Architects we will be going out on a selective 2 stage tender with a start date in mid November this year.

MWA on a Winning Streak

27/6/2019 - It's been a push to get this Project over the line for a good Client of ours, but well worth all of the Teams hard work - the Project is to turn a disused office building into 16 "Micro Apartments" and when we say "Micro" we do mean that, the average GIA of each apartment is 14m2!!! - work on site starts in 3 weeks and MWA also have the full Commercial Management on the Project for our Client.

Hopefully we start work on a similar project but this time for 36 Micro Apartments and we have the Team ready and waiting....

Luxury Living in Surrey - MWA Secure the Cost Planning and Contract Administration

4/6/2019 - Yet another Two updates. MWA have been fortunate to secure the Cost Planning and Contract Administration work on this 11,500 sq/ft new build property in North East Surrey and we are very excited to be working with a Client who really do know exactly what they want and where they want it.

We are also excited about a 4,500 sq/ft new build property in Farnham this will be a traditional "Shaker" style house but constructed using the latest methods of Low Carbon building, we have some very challenging hurdles to overcome on this project. Again we have been appointed as Cost Planners and Contract Administrators on this one. Construction due to start late August 2019

Country House Update

1/3/2019 - Two updates this week, Scaffold struck on a 7,500 Sq/ft stunning house high in the Surrey Hills, internals really coming on well, another two or 3 months and the homeowner will be moving in.

Wentworth Estate, what better than a nice sunny day to admire this 17,500 Sq/ft Mansion, external works coming on a pace, its been an absolute joy to be part of this project.

New Luxury Living in Ascot - MWA Secure the Cost Planning

4/2/2019 - Nice little cost plan to start February with, 2 blocks of apartments in Ascot just shy of 47,000 sq/ft of luxury living & secure basement parking.

25/1/2019 - So far this year we have had enquiries for undertaking the Contract Administration on a large Surrey Hotel refurbishment, providing full Commercial Support to 2 developers who have come to the conclusion that retaining MWA is far cheaper than employing their own staff and have been retained to produce 4 bills of quantity for projects in Greater London

29/10/2018 - Yes it's a "Country House" but far from traditional, nestling in a stunning 5 acre plot this home is employing the latest in design and construction technology, the basement houses a swimming pool, gym, cinema room, sauna, games room and a studio. This coupled with some really interesting internal finishes will make it stand out from the crowd.. Very Interesting commission for us.

The finishes on this project are as fantastic as you would expect for Holland Park and all of the team are keen to get their hands dirty on this one!

30/05/2017 - Today in the office we hosted a new potential client, a small developer, a really nice chap actually, he looked at our work , Detailed Bills of Quantities, Build Cost Viabilities, Cost Plans, Construction Programmes and Land Purchase Viabilities, an hour and a half later we had agreed a partnering arrangement on 10 projects commencing this year and also the Estimating for his Construction Company going forward. It's been a good day at MWA

Hard Work Leads to Great Success!

29/05/2017 - Last week we submitted £129,000 worth of fee proposals (5 jobs) and I'm please to say that we have secured them all, MWA are pricing their services at the right level and working for some fantastic clients and we continue to meet their expectations - 4 of the 5 projects are returning clients. Well done to the team, great work.

Been Let Down On A Tender By Your Estimator? - No Need For That!!!

9/5/2017 - MWA received a call today from a Carpentry Contractor who's outsourced Estimating Service had let him down on this 126 Unit development in Hampshire, "can you get it done for this Friday?" he asked, well there was only one answer.... "No Sorry, but we can get the documents and 42 fully measured and priced Bills of Quantities back to you first thing Monday morning" think it's going to be another busy weekend for the MWA Team, and hopefully we have secured another client for the future (fingers crossed).

3/03/2017 - MWA have recently completed the Tender for this development in Finchley and our Client is now in the final stage of negotiation to secure the project.

Another New Build Country House

27/10/2016 - MWA have received the commission to prepare detailed Bills of Quantities and costings for this 8000 sq/ft new build Country House with extensive landscaped grounds. Constructed over 4 floors (inc the basement) the property boasts a Cinema Room, Games Room, Dance Studio and Gym in the basement, 6 bedrooms and a Guest Annex.

21/10/2016 - MWA are submitting a Fee Proposal for the full Commercial Management on this 13 unit development for a developer client of ours. All the homes are bespoke and MWA will be assisting in the design development to ensure "Best Value" through to Final Account Stage

Full training will be given to the successful candidate leading to Membership of the Royal Institute of Quantity Surveyors. Ideally you will live within a 15 mile radius of Farnham, possess a clean Full UK Driving Licence and be aged between 20 and 25.

Required Experiance:

- RICS accredited degree (2nd Class or above); however all degree disciplins will be considered

or

- A Levels or equivalent with the intent to gain a BSc through day release

- 0-1 year work experience

- IT literate, proficient in the use of Excel

Villecrest Construction Secure Another Contract

30/10/2015 - MWA produced detailed Bills of Quantities and priced this complicated Refurbishment of Axford Lodge in Hampshire on behalf of Villecrest Construction Services Ltd, we only had a week to turn this round and yet again MWA's hard work paid off - Construction starts on site in 2 weeks - Contract Value circa £500,000

18,000 sq/ft Home nears completion

20/10/2015 - Soon to be completed (next week) this stunning 18,000 sq/ft home boasts 8 bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms, a gym, indoor swimming pool and sauna, snooker room, cinema room and all nestled in circa 40 acres of landscaped gardens. it's been a total pleasure working with the new homeowner on this project.

23/7/2015 - MWA Open a new Office in Farnham Surrey at the begining of August. Refurbishment is well underway on the 1700 sq/ft Offices in an Old Victorian Sawmill. The Team are keeping a close eye on progress and quality - It's going to be one hell of a good Opening Party!!

Update on British Museum Tender - Our Clients Tender was 2nd out of 6 Tenderers and lost the project by only £150,000 on a £4 million Tender !!

16/7/2015 - Yet again the Team at MWA work all night to get a Tender in for a Client, We received the Tender Pack for a £4 Million refurbishment at the British Museum on Friday of last week giving us just a week to compile the Tender and it was finished at 3:20am ready for submission at noon - now the long wait for the decision....

MWA HAVE BEST YEAR TO DATE!!!!

29/6/2015 - Thanks to the hard work of the MWA Team we have had our best year end results to date. I'm not going to name names but, you all know who you are. We have been out in the Market, getting new commissions, and we deliver on them, and this is generating repeat business. The new Health & safety Consultancy is going better than I thought, the Debt Collection part of the business (Started just over a week ago) now has over £430,000 in the process of recovery for 3 different clients and our Project & Commercial Management side of the business goes from strength to strenght.

We now look forward to 2015/2016, moving to our new Offices in Farnham will be a great boost to moral, employing new staff members will bring new talent and vision into the business, all designed to serve our clients better.

Remember my two favourite sayings:

"Good, Better, Best, Never let it rest, until your Good is Better and your Betters Best"

And of course what i say every day "Talent can win the game, but Team Work wins the Championship"

29/5/2015 - MWA have another busy weekend ahead, total refurbishment of a 6500 sq/ft house in Surrey, Tender due in on Monday. Final Adjudication Meeting with Client on Sunday, Martin said "Lucky Socks being worn on Monday, the Team has put in a lot of hard work on this Tender, Produced a Fully Compliant Priced Bill of Quantities which is more than the Clients Architects want together with a fully documented alternate bid indicating Value Engineered Savings. It has been a very complicated tender to compile lets hope all the hard work pays off"

29/5/2015 - MWA are now in the final stages of securing the Hard Landscaping Package for Streetpave Groundworks Limited on the Ealing Broadway Revitalisation Project, 2000M2 of Granite Paving to be laid continuously Day & Night - Fast Track Project which suits our Client. Expecting the Contract Documents next week - Should be an interesting read!!

8/5/2015 - MWA wish to congratulate The Stark Group for securing an £800,000 High End Refurbishment of 3 Mews Houses in Belgravia London - Martin said "We work closely with The Stark Group" an this was a very interesting Project for my team to produce the tender for especially the 2 new basements which have to be constructed in a precise and complicated fashion" MWA will be providing the Commercial Management and Subcontract/Materials Procurement on this project for The Stark Group.

18/4/2015 - It's in the bag, MWA along with The Stark Group have secured a four year Measured Term Contract for the Refurbishment of the biggest Landmark Store on Oxford Street London.

17/4/2015 - MWA are in the early stages of negotiating a collaborative agreement with a Health & Safety Consultancy based in Hampshire, Martin said "This is an ideal solution going forward for MWA to broaden our wings and advance in our ambition to offer a One Stop Shop to our Clients ranging from Land Viabilities, QS Services, Construction Project Management, CDM Coordinator Role, Material Procurement, Health and Safety Inspections and Reporting to full Health and Safety Training - so many Clients are asking for this now I want MWA to be at the forefront in providing what our Clients need - when they need it!"
